Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome! One of our guides picks you up either at the Portland airport or at your hotel if you arrive a day early. We will then take an incredibly scenic, 1-hour drive along the Columbia River Gorge to our beautiful mountain inn, that we will call home for the next 4 days. That night we have a welcome dinner under the Wisteria patio followed by a quick orientation: meet-and-greet, what you can expect, and safety briefing.

Day 2

We have breakfast at the Inn complete with our famous coffee, specially roasted for Untethered Expeditions before each trip. Pack up your daypack and get ready to day-hike into the backcountry. After a short drive to the trailhead, we start our hike to a picture-worth lunch spot. We will then return to the Inn for another great dinner.

Day 3

After another great breakfast the Inn, we set out for our thrill-packed day of epic whitewater rafting. Lunch is on the river, just as it always should be! You will be talking about this trip for years to come! After an adventurous day of rafting, we return to the Inn for our awesome Farewell Dinner. This is not to be missed as our Farewell Dinner is a unique time where we honor the time we spent in the Wild together as well as what each unique member of the trip brought to the collective experience.

Day 4

Breakfast at the Inn is included, and transfers to area hotels or Portland airport will commence. This day is entirely flexible to work with everyone's departures.

“Discover who you are when you’re truly untethered.”

FAQs

You’ve got questions and we’ve got answers! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to info@untetheredexpeditions.com.

  • One of your guides will pick you up at the airport or hotel if you arrived a day early, and drive you and the rest of your group to the first campsite in the front country.

  • We ask that you are in the Seattle-area or SeaTac airport ready for pickup no later than 1 PM on Day 1 because we leave shortly after. We highly recommend arriving in Seattle the day before your trip start date in order to avoid any hiccups or travel delays—we cannot delay the trip if your flight gets canceled the day-of.

  • We got you! We provide a majority of the gear/equipment so that you can take the guesswork out of this process. This includes tents, women-specific backpacks and sleeping bags, sleeping pads, a drybag for your personal items and clothes, and all camp-cooking equipment. We offer a trip-specific list of recommended additional items that we do not include such as personal clothing, water bottles or hydration packs, hiking boots, etc. Every item on the additional gear list will have examples and links of how to choose them and where to find them.

  • The Olympic National Park adventure is built for beginners! No prior experience traversing the outdoors is required. But if you’re an experienced outdoor enthusiast, this trip will be fun too.

  • We spend two days and two nights in the backcountry.

Why Untethered Expeditions

We believe that when you venture outward with Untethered Expeditions, you in turn venture inward.
